Research Interests

Teaching and learning processes in higher education are increasingly taking place in digital and digitised contexts. This requires didactic considerations at micro, meso and macro levels. Alongside extensive research on university teaching in the context of emergency remote teaching, the use of open educational resources in teaching and learning contexts and student engagement are also being addressed.

Internationalisation and digitalisation are cross-cutting issues in the strategic development of universities, and their complementary nature is being utilised more and more in strategic learning design. Research in this area is needed with regard to the assessment of learning outcomes, the design of collaborative international courses and university strategies in this field. Research focusing on these areas is currently being conducted at the Chair through the analysis of higher education internationalisation, digitalisation and internationalisation strategies.

The use of research syntheses as a research methodology is becoming more common in educational science. This is evident in fields such as media education, pedagogy, learning design and educational technology. However, there is a need to critically examine the extent to which this approach can be further developed in relation to educational science issues and their specific characteristics, as well as what such an adaptation might entail.
